Paulo Freire Re-invented by H.P.Gerhardt

Freire Hamburg 2018

In times of globalization and digitization, the experiences with his pedagogy must be reassessed. The debate about the theoretical foundations of a theory of dialogic pedagogy as the practice of freedom should also be continued. Freire’s thinking bundles the humanistic tradition and repositions it in the struggle for peaceful forms of inclusive coexistence with the participation of all in resources – global, regional, local, involved in the conflicts over ‘gender’, ‘class’ and racism.

The congress is about taking stock of the work of Freire in different countries and areas of work as well as the variety of fields of application.

Various forums with keynote speeches and poster presentations on various projects and topics are planned for the conference in autumn 2018.

At the same time, workshops on the practical implementation of Freire’s approaches in the fields of art therapy and theater education are offered.

Review and collected

We will shortly be providing you with some pictures, reviews and documentation of the conference – its results and discussions. But we would like to thank everyone involved for their participation and the lively exchange.
